Contradicting recent media reports that he may join the president’s legal team, Marc Mukasey said he is remaining at his law firm, Greenberg Traurig, where he has an active white-collar defense practice in New York.

“There’s nobody better than Rudy and Jay and Emmet to handle this investigation and bring it to a swift and successful end. I love them,” he said in a statement, referring to his longtime partner Rudy Giuliani—on a leave of absence from Greenberg while on President Donald Trump’s legal team—and to Trump lawyers Jay Sekulow and Emmet Flood. “I will remain at Greenberg Traurig, committed to my clients and my partners and my practice,” Mukasey added.
