U.S. District Judge Vince Chhabria has been on the bench less than two years, but he’s already running short of patience for “ridiculous” patent arguments.

Chhabria awarded $1.2 million in “exceptional case” attorney fees Thursday—including $100,000 in Rule 11 sanctions against Blank Rome—for bringing a patent infringement suit against Zynga that was “objectively baseless from the start.”
