The National Law Journal is seeking nominations for our “Appellate Hot List.” The Appellate Hot List recognizes law firms that have excelled at cutting-edge appellate advocacy and have garnered successful outcomes for clients. Potential nominees must be able to point to at least one significant appellate win since January 2017, plus an impressive track record of appellate work overall. A “significant win” means prevailing before the U.S. Supreme Court, a U.S. circuit court of appeals or a state court of last resort when the financial stakes were high or an important legal principle was at stake.

Nominations should: list the specific case or cases to be considered (5 pages maximum) and include a short description (950 words maximum) of the firm’s overall appellate track record. In the case list, please include an explanation of the firm’s contribution to particular cases (presented oral arguments, drafted briefs, contributed amici arguments cited by the court) and the percentage of work your firm handled relative to co-counsel (please also identify the co-counsel and the co-counsel’s firm). Please include a list of the principal attorneys on a case (including those from your firm), with their contact information included.
