The U.S. Senate on Tuesday voted to confirm Bridget Bade to a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Bade, who has served as a magistrate judge in the District of Arizona since 2012, was approved by the full senate in a 78-21 vote.

Bade was originally nominated to the Ninth Circuit in August 2018 and renominated in January after her initial nomination expired without a full Senate vote. She fills a seat vacated in 2016 when Judge Barry Silverman took senior status. Bade’s elevation to the Ninth Circuit comes after she impressed the White House legal shop during her interview.
