Two law firms with important Atlanta offices are applying revenue or billable-hour metrics to decide how they restore pay cuts issued in the spring, when leaders feared catastrophic economic side effects to the coronavirus pandemic.

These decisions by Nelson Mullins and Baker Donelson contrast with firms that announced mostly lockstep cuts in the spring and restorations in recent weeks. Law firm consultant Brad Hildebrandt, speaking generally, said few firms seem to be tying pay restoration to lawyers’ individual production.
