A Wisconsin attorney’s $12,500 unpaid sanction for disciplinary costs can’t be eliminated in bankruptcy court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit said Monday.

Judges Michael Y. Scudder Jr., Michael B. Brennan and Candace Jackson-Akiwumi, in their ruling, said the panel’s decision follows how other federal appeals courts have answered the same question.
