A junior lawyer leaves a confidential document on the train. Or sends an email to the wrong person. These might not be interpreted as career-ending scenarios. But junior lawyers increasingly feel they could be, particularly in light of recent action by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
This week, the SRA dropped its action against a junior lawyer who was struck off after lying about losing a briefcase containing legal documents on a train. But despite this, junior lawyers across the U.K. are not hopeful that the regulator’s treatment of younger lawyers will improve as a result.
