A Washington federal judge reversed an administrative law judge’s denial of a woman’s disability benefits after determining that the decision was not supported by “substantial evidence.”
The plaintiff, Lisa Gooch, filed an application for supplemental security income in September 2018 and alleged she had been disabled since May 2014. She included symptoms of degenerative disc disease, Hoffa fat pad, high blood pressure, post-traumatic stress disorder, agoraphobia, major depressive disorder, anxiety, and panic disorder in her application for disability benefits, according to the judge’s order filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington.
