Jackson Walker, an Am Law 200 firm with a leading bankruptcy practice, faces continuing challenges from the fallout of a former partner’s relationship with a federal bankruptcy judge in Houston, including a motion filed recently by two creditors in a bankruptcy that seeks to vacate the firm’s fee awards, and obtain disgorgement and sanctions.

Most recently, the U.S. Justice Department’s Office of the U.S. Trustee on Thursday began taking steps to return more than $13 million in fees awarded to Jackson Walker in bankruptcy cases presided over by former U.S. Bankruptcy Judge David Jones, filing motions to reverse several of these decisions.
