Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg wasn’t on the job for too long before detractors began leveling accusations that he was taking it easy on crime. But those critics weren’t zeroing in on his office’s prosecution of vehicular infractions.

Emily Saul reports that Bragg’s office has taken more than a few drubbings on motor-vehicle cases that include drunk driving—and that the DA cites onerous discovery demands mandated under state law for his office’s Ls in this particular practice area.
